Saint Paul Reads Citywide Book Club for Kids

Last year, the Saint Paul Reads Citywide Book Club launched a Saint Paul Reads Citywide Book Club for Kids, appropriate for middle school/junior high students.

The 2005-2006 book selection is "Esperanza  Rising," by Pam Munoz Ryan.  Throughout the year, Saint Paul Reads will focus on events and activities that enhance students' understanding of our local Hispanic culture.

Also new this year:  We have added a recommended reading list of picture books to encourage younger readers:

“Elena’s Serenade,” by Campbell
Geeslin;  “Erandi’s Braids,” by Antonio Hernandez Madrigal;  “I Love Saturdays y domingos,” by Alma Flor Ada;  “Mice and Beans,” by Pam Munoz Ryan;  “My Name is Jorge,” by Jane Medina, and “Radio Man, A Story in English and Spanish,”  by Arthur Dorros.
